Sun Shines on Jimboomba Cadets Thanks to Local Solar Company
At Solar Install Co, we’re passionate about powering not just homes and businesses, but also the community spaces that shape our future generations.
That’s why we were proud to partner with the Jimboomba & Districts Cadets (JDC) to deliver a brand-new solar and battery system for their Cadets Hall, helping them take a huge step forward in their journey towards energy independence.
The JDC is a volunteer-run organisation offering young people aged 7–17 a unique military-inspired program. Beyond drills and discipline, the cadets gain real-world skills like leadership, teamwork, confidence, and reliability. For many, it’s a life-changing stepping stone towards becoming independent, considerate, and purposeful members of society.
Since their founding in 2012, the JDC has been a self-sufficient community organisation, relying on volunteers and financial independence to keep programs running. But until recently, the Cadets Hall operated completely off-grid— with no power and no running water.
Bringing Renewable Energy to a Vital Community Hub
As locals and parents, themselves, Solar Install Co directors Matt and Chloe Thomson know the value of strong community facilities. They’re passionate about delivering renewable energy infrastructure that supports local organisations and helps young people thrive.
From the start, Solar Install Co’s goal has been to deliver premium, truly impactful renewable energy solutions to Queensland homes, businesses, and community spaces, and it’s projects like this that really bring that vision to life.
A Smooth Installation— and a Brighter Future
In July 2025, our team installed:
- 4.84kW Solar System with 10.2kWh Battery Storage
- 11 DAS Solar Bifacial Double Glass Module (Black Pro) DAS-DH108ND-440 440W Solar Panels
- 9.2kWh Dyness RW-F10.2 Battery
- 1 DEYE Hybrid SUN-5K-SG04LP1-AU Inverter
The system will give the JDC reliable, sustainable power for training sessions, events, and everyday operations— all fuelled by the Queensland sun.
Brett McCreadie, Chief Instructor at the JDC, was thrilled with the process:
“Solar Install Co has made the process a lot easier for us. They’re clearly experts who know what they’re talking about. They’ve been a great organisation and very helpful for us.”
Brett, a former soldier and passionate youth mentor, has been leading cadet programs for the past seven years. He knows first-hand how important facilities like the Cadets Hall are for building confidence and skills in young people.
More Than Just Solar
For us, this project was about more than installing panels and batteries. It was about ensuring the JDC can continue shaping the next generation without worrying about energy costs or limitations.
Now, the Cadets Hall isn’t just a training ground— it’s a shining example of how renewable energy can strengthen communities.
Thinking about going solar? Whether you’re a local homeowner, a business owner, or part of a community group, we can help design a renewable energy solution that makes a real difference.
